Paul Moriarty BSc FCA FFin

Paul has over 25 years of accounting and valuation experience and has been appointed as an expert on over 200 occasions, bringing valuable clarity to financial and valuation matters, and assisting clients, Courts and arbitrators to resolve disputes.

He has given expert witness (oral) testimony on multiple occasions across commercial, criminal, and relationship property matters.

Paul has been appointed as a valuation expert by the New Zealand Court, the President of the New Zealand Law Society, and the President of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand ('CA ANZ', the governing body for chartered accountants in Australasia). He has also been accredited by CA ANZ as a Business Valuation Specialist. This designation is held by select chartered accountants with proven expertise in the valuation of businesses, shares, and other assets.

Paul originally commenced work with KPMG in the United Kingdom in 1992 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant within their audit and investigations division. He has held management positions at international accounting firms in the United Kingdom and Australia, and has held executive roles at stock exchange listed companies in Australia and New Zealand where he had responsibility for valuations, financial modelling, and financial reporting.

He established Moriarty Associates Limited in 2011 where he now specialises solely in the provision of business valuation, forensic accounting, and litigation support services.
